Frequently asked questions.
How does the laser treatment work?
The laser creates a beam of high intensity light that penetrates into the skin and delivers a controlled amount of targeted therapeutic heat. The cooling device protects the upper layers of the skin. This provides optimal treatment with minimal side effects.
What should I expect during treatment?
You will wear safety eyewear to protect the eyes. The treatment could take a few minutes to as long as an hour, depending on the area and condition being treated. There is slight discomfort with each laser pulse described as the snapping of a rubber band on the skin.
How should I prepare for the treatment?
Patients scheduled for hair removal should avoid plucking, electrolysis, or hair waxing for 6 weeks before treatment. Also, the skin should be clean shaven without makeup/creams. Avoid sun exposure or tanning beds for at least 2 weeks before and after treatment. A series of 6-7 treatments may be required every 4-8 weeks for permanent hair reduction.
